Lucan have taken inspiration from Gurkha military trousers, but evolved the fit, detail and fabric to make it their own. Steeped in heritage, but designed as modern classics, these stylish trousers are ideal for country or town and are a perfect complement for Lucan jackets.

In 1814 a young British lieutenant led his Indian national troops against Nepal. In one skirmish the fierce Nepalese frightened the troops so much that the soldiers fled the battlefield. However, the young officer stood his ground and said, “ I have not come this far in order to run away”. The men agreed that they would be able to serve under an officer like him, thus Britain inherited the invaluable Gurkha regiments, famed for their courage and fortitude. Their uniform included an elegant trouser with a distinctive wrap waistband, which was much admired. As so often with military clothing, the style translated well into civilian dress.

The Lucan Gurkha Trouser – Celtic Blue Irish Linen

Made from the finest Irish Linen, with a laundered finish, these stylish Celtic-Blue trousers are tailored in a smart, contemporary fit with a double-pleated front, and side pockets.

Features include an extended tongue waistband, leather buckle, a concealed fly with tiger’s-eye buttons and a fully constructed waistband. The waist has an antique brass hook & bar fastening, plus an internal waist button, so the fly remains smart and any strain on the waistband is alleviated. In keeping with Lucan signature style, the Gurkha trousers have a vibrant cupro-satin lining in Stoneblue, Soft-Khaki bias binding trim, plus complementary pocketing and fly guard in Storm-blue cotton sateen.

Made in England.
