Fauconberg Bomber Jacket – Bracken Donegal Tweed

£ 650.00

The Fauconberg jacket is a luxury mens tweed bomber jacket. It is a modern take on last century’s bomber jacket, crafted from authentic Donegal tweed.

The style is named after Elizabeth, the wife of the 2nd Earl of Lucan, daughter of Earl Fauconberg, whose ancestor married the daughter of Lord Protector, Oliver Cromwell. Richard Lucan and Elizabeth lived at Fauconberg House in London’s fashionable Soho Square having enjoyed a deliciously scandalous elopement, involving secret trysts in London’s Kensington Gardens, whilst she was still married to the Duke of Norfolk.

Donegal tweed is made in Ireland using local wool to produce a fabric with characteristic small pieces of coloured yarn that create a distinctive heathered effect. Along with Harris, this resplendent fabric has been classified as the most famous tweed in the world. The wool has natural lanolin, giving the fabric a shower-resistant quality. Lucan fashion is delighted to embrace the use of British and Irish fabrics as part of their brand ethos.
